Law Clerk

Leanne Longstaffe

With over 40 years of experience as a law clerk, I am proud to bring knowledge and practical experience to the firm. My background includes corporate/commercial law, as well as real estate and wills and estates, giving me an understanding of how these areas often work together to meet clients’ needs.

After graduating from Seneca College, I spent 28 years working with a sole practitioner in Toronto before moving to a small firm in Brooklin, where I worked for the next 13 years. I have always valued building lasting professional relationships, and I was fortunate to work with Anna, who joined that firm just before I did. I also had the pleasure of working with Lauren, who completed her college placement there before beginning her career as a junior corporate law clerk. It is especially meaningful to be working together again.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I believe that taking care of our well-being, both our own and that of those around us, is important. In my free time, you’ll often find me cooking, walking, golfing, or relaxing at my cottage.

Law Clerk

Lauren Carroll

Lauren is an experienced Law Clerk supporting a wide range of corporate and commercial legal matters. Lauren focuses primarily on not-for-profit and charity law. She is a graduate of Durham College (2017), where she completed the Law Clerk Advanced Program with Honours distinction before joining a small firm in Brooklin as a general corporate/commercial law clerk. Lauren joined True North Law P.C. in September 2023 and assists clients with incorporations, governance matters, corporate records, regulatory filings, and ongoing compliance, helping organizations navigate their legal obligations with clarity and confidence. Known for her attention to detail and commitment to client service, Lauren works closely with her colleagues and clients to support efficient, well-organized transactions, and corporate record maintenance. Her focus on the not-for-profit and charitable sector allows her to provide thoughtful support to organizations dedicated to serving their communities.

Outside of work, Lauren volunteers at a local retirement home, where she enjoys spending time assisting seniors with their day-to-day activities and contributing to her community. Lauren has also previously volunteered in the community as a student mental health advocate, working with children and young adults. In her free time, Lauren enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Finance Administrator

Kennedy Naud

I am currently studying at Trent University, working towards my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in accounting. I graduated from École Secondaire Catholique Saint-Charles-Garnier (Whitby) in June 2025 as an Ontario Scholar with a Bilingual Education Certificate. During high school, I really enjoyed my business and accounting classes, and was very proud to be awarded the Highest Merit Prize by the Business Department, which solidified my desire to go into business and accounting!

In May 2026, True North Law Professional Corporation welcomed me as their Finance Administrator and I am very grateful to be gaining office and finance experience with incredible and kind people as my co-workers and boss. I intend to continue working with True North Law during my studies on a part-time basis. As the Finance Administrator, I manage financial aspects of the Firm. I also handle administrative, operational, and secretarial duties to help support and maintain the Firm in any way I can. I aim to bring new ideas, as well as an open mind to the team.

Before I started working at True North Law, I volunteered at a variety of places, including as a summer school assistant and at a long-term care facility, to give back to my community and to gain world experience. At Trent University, I am part of the executive teams of the Accounting Society and the French Club. In my downtime, I enjoy connecting with nature, reading, playing the piano, and being with the people I care about. My family and friends are very important to my core.
